STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE OF TECHNOLOGICAL SUBSTITUTION

At present, technology plays an important role in every business sector. New technologies and innovations are constantly emerging around the world to replace old ones. Therefore, the topic of technological substitution becomes one of critical issues in technology management field. This article aims to present a background of technological substitution and its strategic importance to an organization. Analysis tools supporting technological substitution are also presented in the later section. Case examples collected from existing literatures are presented the strategic issues at the end of this paper.
