On 6 to 7 June 2012, Dr. Molraudee Saratun, Program Chair of Human Capital & Organization, Thai Program, and Dr. Pornkasem Kantamara, Asst. Dean of CMMU and Program Chair of Entrepreneurship Management, International Program, have received a Highly Commended Paper Award from their research report entitled “An Analysis of CEO Visions in Thailand” at the 7th Institute for Sustainable Leadership symposium in Rome, Italy. In addition, this report is chosen for publication as a book chapter in a new textbook to be launched internationally by the Institute for Sustainable Leadership.
The CMMU report discusses findings of a study that explores the nature of Thai CEO visions to see if corporate sustainability is contained in the content of these visions, adopting Kantabutra's vision models as frameworks. The sample comprises 298 CEOs and business owners who were asked to respond to a questionnaire containing questions regarding their organizational visions.
Findings indicate that themes of the visions obtained still focus on profitability-related topics. However, the content related to sustainability seems to emerge, including content related to the Sufficiency Economy philosophy.
